Strategic grant searches are conducted by LAC to improve, often dramatically, grant development and help current nonprofit organization staff meet or exceed their goals. LAC first assesses current and past grant activity and then conducts an extensive review of most probable grant sources—those that meet an agency's mission and that are most likely to return a favorable response—from the public (government) and private (foundation) funding sectors. The search results in a grant development plan for mapping activity during a one or two-year time frame.
“It simply gets harder each year to raise money. One obvious reason is the growth of worthy organizations competing for the charitable dollar. But probably the more overlooked reason is that more and more fundraisers are better at what they do. So, not only is there more competition, the competition is better.”
